The annual Star Trek convention opens in Quahog. The Griffin family attends the convention, where Stewie attends a question-and-answers session with the main cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Furious that he does not get a chance to ask any questions, he devises a plan to kidnap the cast. He builds a transporter—a teleportation machine that converts a person into an energy pattern, then "beams" it to a target where it is reconverted into matter—in his bedroom and beams the cast over and forces them to spend an entire day with him.
